Do you want to save time and market smarter?
Everyone is busy these days. Finding the time to bring in new clients sometimes falls at the bottom of the ever-growing to-do list. Whether you’re starting out in the world of social marketing or adding another platform, let’s embrace our inner marketing genius and focus on 5 tips to leverage your time and talent.
#1. Choose your tools wisely. Focusing your marketing efforts in the arena where your clients (or perfect clients) play is key to your success. Survey your clients via an on-line tool like Survey Monkey to help you understand your audience.
Another way to choose which platform you’d like to focus your marketing efforts is to determine where you’re most comfortable. If you find your understanding of Google+ far outshines your knowledge of a different platform, then use that to your advantage and maximize your connections and conversations in that platform.
While location is everything, socializing and being comfortable are critical.
#2. Leverage. Max out your platform of choice by getting active in conversations and using the available tools of that platform to your advantage.
If you’re using Pinterest as your main marketing tool, then make sure your photos are shareable by editing, enhancing and using key words in the description box. If Facebook is your weapon of choice you may want to consider advertising to increase your reach.
#3. Market. Fire up your creativity by researching where others in our industry are finding marketing success. Attend conferences, product launches, webinars and work with your key suppliers and host to optimize your marketing.
Cross promote your social platforms by embedding posts, using social sharing tools and leveraging your social links on all correspondence.
#4. Measure. Check out analytics tools available for each platform. Page Insights is a free Facebook tool. Crowdbooster is a low-cost option to analyze your Facebook and Twitter sites. Pinterest tools such as Tailwind, Piqora (analyzes Tumblr and Instagram as well), and Curalate are powerful. Twitter analytics can be found on Twitonomy, Simply Measured and others.
#5. Try something NEW! Step out of your comfort zone and into a world of potential new clients. Every day there is a bright, new, shiny social tool or platform released. Research what leaders in our industry are adopting and try it yourself. Strategically stretch your boundaries and reach new audiences.
Try revamping your social strategy by adding custom audiences to your advertising mix, enhancing your photos with photo editing tools, creating video from your still photos. The opportunities are endless and the potential skyrockets every day.
Social marketing is all about building relationships and taking actionable steps to solidify new business. Take some action today by diving into the tips above and taking your business to a new level.
