The Travel Agent Proficiency or TAP test is the first step in professional recognition. The test allows candidates to demonstrate that they have mastered the basics of the travel industry.It is highly regarded as it demonstrates the first commitment an individual has to the profession.

Certified Travel Associate – CTA

The Certified Travel Associate designation is conferred by The Travel Institute upon travel professionals who complete a rigorous certification program, demonstrate essential industry knowledge and experience, and maintain high standards of professionalism. These students join a growing group of travel professionals who choose to accelerate their careers by becoming certified through The Travel Institute. The CTA curriculum covers four key skill areas for the working travel professional – Communication and Technology, Geography knowledge, Sales and Service, and Travel Industry Trends.

Certified Travel Counselor – CTC

The Certified Travel Counselor designation is conferred by The Travel Institute upon travel professionals who complete an advanced certification program, demonstrate extensive industry knowledge and experience, and exemplify the highest standards of professionalism.  These students join a growing group of travel professionals who shown a dedication and commitment to raising the bar of professionalism in the travel industry. The CTC curriculum covers a number of skill areas that prepare the candidate for leadership roles in the industry – focusing on courses that develop business, professional and managerial skills.

Certified Travel Industry Executive – CTIE

The Certified Travel Industry Executive designation is awarded by The Travel Institute to travel professionals who complete a comprehensive, exam-based training program, demonstrate extensive industry knowledge and experience, and exemplify the highest standards of professionalism. The CTIE course focuses on the critical skills that today’s leaders need to succeed, including emotional intelligence, teambuilding, negotiating, and coping with change.
