What inspired you to pursue a career in travel and tourism? Was there a defining moment?
Recently, I achieved my CTA after dedicating time and effort, which I believe demonstrates my strong motivation and readiness to grow further in the travel industry. My defining moment came after I lost my long-time job. Then I realized the only thing holding me back was me.
Can you share a moment in your career when you realized, “This is exactly what I’m meant to do”?
I think I’ve always known- I’ve planned Disney trips for years for friends and family. I love researching travel destinations and finding treasures in each place.
How has your journey evolved since graduating from The Travel Institute?
It’s been a whirlwind since graduating at the beginning of the month. Setting up my own shop and partnering with a host agency has been a dream for so long. I’ve already booked 3 trips and I’m looking forward to using my knowledge to create magical experiences for others. I’ve recently gotten my Disney College of Knowledge 2026 certification. I know that this is something I can do even when I retire.
What’s your favorite part about helping others experience the world through travel?
I think creating magic travel experiences for others. I love to travel and want others to have the same experience I have.
What’s one cultural experience that left a lasting impression on you?
Paris and London was life-changing for me. To see things, buildings and culture that has been around for over 1000 years was nothing short of amazing.
What skills from The Travel Institute have made the biggest impact in your career?
While the itineraries were the hardest to learn, it’s the business skills that have made the biggest impact.
What advice would you give to someone just starting their travel industry journey?
Be patient. It takes a minute to get things arranged right and learning your host agency’s policies.
How do you stay motivated and inspired in an industry that’s constantly changing?
I think that’s the whole point- to use the knowledge I’ve received and evolve to meet the demands of the clients.
If you could only pack 3 items for a trip around the world, what would they be?
I’d pack a phone charger, a portable charger and an extra pair of skivvies.
What’s one place on your travel bucket list that you haven’t crossed off yet?
I’d like to go to one of those little over-the-ocean bungalows in the South Pacific.
