France for Foodies
Cuisine is a fine art in France, and the fine food in the city of Paris is no exception. As a travel advisor, you must be aware of a few important tips to explain to your clients:
Dining Tips
- Lunch in Paris is served from 12–2 pm. Not before, and not after.
- Dinner is a little more flexible. But most people don’t eat dinner before 8 pm, and it is served until 10:30 pm.
- Most cafes will have a smoking and a non-smoking area.
TIP: A beverage in a café may have a different price, depending on where the customer drinks it! It may be the cheapest if drunk while standing inside at the bar. It may cost a bit more if the guest drinks it seated at a table inside, and it will cost the most if consumed at an outdoor table. But, when in Paris, sitting outside at a sidewalk café…relaxing and enjoying watching the Paris life go by…is well worth the extra price!
In Paris, much of life is spent around a table with good conversation and delicious food, so tell your clients to take their time!
