What inspired you to pursue a career in travel and tourism? Was there a defining moment?
Travel had always been something I loved, but it wasn’t until April 2025 that it became something I understood.
I embarked on a transatlantic cruise from Port Canaveral to Barcelona, a journey that unfolded slowly, and deliberately, across open water. With long sea days and no urgency to rush, I found space to breathe, to think, and to listen to myself in a way I hadn’t in years. Somewhere between horizons and quiet mornings at sea, I realized I wasn’t just traveling. I was being changed by the experience.
That voyage marked a turning point. It showed me that travel, when done thoughtfully, has the power to restore perspective, rebuild confidence, and gently realign a life that has been running on autopilot. I returned home with more than memories, I returned with clarity.
That transatlantic crossing became my defining moment, the one that transformed travel from a passion into a purpose. It inspired me to pursue a career in travel and tourism so I could help others experience that same sense of renewal, meaning, and possibility through well-designed journeys.
Can you share a moment in your career when you realized, “This is exactly what I’m meant to do”?
That moment came not with a big announcement, but with a sense of calm certainty. It was when I booked my first client on a truly meaningful journey and realized I wasn’t just arranging logistics. I was helping someone step into a long-held dream with confidence and care. As I guided them through the details, anticipated their concerns, and added thoughtful touches they hadn’t even known to ask for, I recognized the same feeling I had experienced on my own transatlantic crossing: clarity, purpose, and alignment.
What confirmed it for me was the trust. Knowing someone had placed something deeply personal, their time, their resources, their expectations, in my hands, and feeling prepared to honor that responsibility, was profoundly affirming. It felt less like work and more like stewardship.
In that moment, I understood that this was exactly what I was meant to do, design journeys that feel considered, meaningful, and deeply personal, and to walk alongside clients as a trusted advisor, not just a booking agent.
How has your journey evolved since graduating from The Travel Institute?
Since graduating from The Travel Institute, my journey has gained both structure and momentum. I earned my Certified Travel Associate (CTA) certification immediately after completing the TripKit program, which gave me a strong professional foundation and the confidence to move forward with intention.
From there, I applied to and was accepted into the Virtuoso Advisor Recruitment Program, an important milestone that affirmed my commitment to operating at a high standard of service and professionalism. Joining Avenue Two Travel as my host agency further shaped my growth, surrounding me with a culture of collaboration, mentorship, and thoughtful advisor development.
Each step has helped refine how I show up for my clients with deeper industry knowledge, stronger partnerships, and a clearer sense of purpose. What began as education has evolved into a practice rooted in discernment, relationships, and long-term value, both for my clients and for the career I’m continuing to build.
What’s your favorite part about helping others experience the world through travel?
My favorite part is watching someone step into a version of themselves they hadn’t quite met yet. Travel has a way of softening edges and widening perspective, and I love being part of that transformation. When a client returns with a deeper sense of confidence, curiosity, or calm, when they realize they didn’t just visit a place but felt changed by it, that’s the reward.
I especially value helping people travel with intention. Slowing down, choosing experiences that matter, and allowing space for wonder instead of rush. There’s something deeply meaningful about knowing that a well-planned journey can become a memory someone carries for the rest of their life.
Being trusted with that, someone’s time, their dreams, their “someday”, is a responsibility I don’t take lightly. And it’s what makes this work feel enduring, purposeful, and deeply human.
What’s one cultural experience that left a lasting impression on you?
Visiting cathedrals abroad has left a lasting impression on me. In many countries, these sacred spaces are approached with a quiet reverence, an unspoken understanding that one is entering something timeless. The stillness, the ritual, the sense of continuity across centuries felt deeply grounding. These were not places of spectacle, but of reflection, humility, and devotion.
Experiencing that level of respect for tradition and sacred space profoundly shaped my own spiritual evolution. It reminded me that faith, much like travel, is not meant to be rushed or consumed, but entered into thoughtfully and with intention.
Those moments, standing beneath vaulted ceilings worn smooth by history, taught me the value of tradition, continuity, and meaning. They continue to influence how I move through the world and how I seek depth, purpose, and authenticity in both travel and life.
What skills from The Travel Institute have made the biggest impact in your career?
The most impactful skills I gained from The Travel Institute are structure, critical thinking, and client-centered planning. The coursework emphasized understanding why a client travels, not just where they want to go. Learning how to ask better questions, listen for unspoken priorities, and translate those insights into well-designed itineraries has shaped how I work every day.
Equally important was developing a disciplined approach to research, supplier evaluation, and risk awareness. Those skills have allowed me to plan with confidence, anticipate challenges, and advocate effectively for my clients, especially when plans change.
Perhaps most valuable of all was learning to approach travel advising as a profession rooted in ethics, preparation, and accountability. That foundation has given me the confidence to operate as a trusted advisor, not simply a transactional resource, and it continues to guide how I build long-term client relationships.
