Partner CEU Approval Application

The Travel Institute Continuing Education Unit (CEU) program is designed to collaborate with a wide variety of professional development opportunities in the travel industry and ensure the continued growth of certified travel professionals. 

Criteria and Guidelines for Awarding Continuing Education Units

The Travel Institute’s Professional Development Review Committee has established the following guidelines as the minimum requirements for approval of Continuing Education Units. NOTE: Criteria may be different for conference/event programs seeking approval.

    • Clear learning outcomes for the program
    • Specialized knowledge of a particular area(s)
    • Practical Advice and Tips
    • Application activities (exercises, games, key terms) 
    • Knowledge checks (Quizzes, tests, etc – if applicable) 
    • Certificate of Completion (if applicable)
    • Expert Designation (if applicable)

The number of continuing education units to be awarded is determined only after the program, course or conference agenda has been reviewed to meet the educational criteria set out by The Travel Institute.

 

All travel professionals with either CTA, CTC, and CTIE must complete a minimum of 10 continuing education units each year to maintain their certification benefits and qualify to be included in The Travel Institute’s consumer “Find a Certified Travel Agent” directory.

  • Everything in Tier 2
  • Participation our CTA Scholarship program

Application Fee

Once an application has been submitted, approved programs/courses will pay a one-time non-refundable fee. Fees to be determined based on the CEU package chosen. Renewal fee is based on the CEU package chosen. Renewal applications will request information about any changes made to the approved program.

    • The Travel Institute’s Seal of Approval as a recognized CEU course to be used on all of your marketing efforts. 
    • Your course logo featured on rotation on the Travel Institute public home page, with a link to your own learning platform.  Averages 36K views per month
    • Your course logo featured on rotation on the Travel Institute’s certified home page, with a link to your own learning platform. Averages over 1.3k views per month.
    • Listing on the CEU Directory page with a direct link to your own learning platform. Averages 1.2k views per month

Tier two includes:

    • Tier One
    • PLUS: A 30-minute program webinar* hosted by The Travel Institute showcasing your education program. 
    • On demand recording available for one year in the Premium Library
    • Program webinar promoted on:
    • The Travel Institute’s Events calendar
    • The Travel Institute’s Social Media platforms including the CTA FB Group & LinkedIn page. (7.3K+ members)
    • Hot Tip Tuesday Newsletter (28K readers, including new to industry)
    • Other industry calendars, including VAX and Host Agency Directory (Over 100K)

Tier Three includes:

  • Special Offer! Tier Three includes:  
    • Tier Two 
    • PLUS: Participation in The Travel Institute’s CTA Scholarship program. Includes 20 Certification scholarships valued at $275.00 each.
