One of our certified graduates, Anthony Roberts, Jr. CTA, CCC, owner and founder of Adventures by Anthony, has traveled to Las Vegas many times…four times in 2024 and 21 times since 2019 when he first started counting! He has lots of practical tips to share:
Transportation
- Major airport: Harry Reid International Airport (code LAS; f/k/a McCarran International Airport).
- Uber and Lyft are available; shared shuttle, private car, and charter services can be arranged
- On the Strip, the Deuce is a double decker bus that travels up/down continuously, making frequent stops at various resorts
- The Monorail is automated and is an alternative method to easily commute to the Convention Center and adjacent casinos on the Strip
- The Loop is a free commuter bus that allows for easy access to Downtown Vegas and Fremont Street
Accommodations
- Vegas hotels are architectural marvels, each uniquely designed
- According to Visit Las Vegas, there are nearly 300 hotels and resorts, equating to 151,000+ rooms in total
- Most properties use theming, visible in the décor and design (e.g., The Luxor is pyramid-shaped and beams a piercing white light in the night sky; outside are Egyptian statues and figures)
- At night, Vegas comes alive with its dazzlingly illuminated hotels
Top Must-Sees
- The wide variety of nightly shows and live events: comedy, acrobatics, dance, magic and others
- The Stratosphere Observation Deck with spectacular views; while up top, take a chance at one of three thrill rides or the SkyJump
- The Bellagio’s 1,000+ fountains exhibited at any one of its many shows; synchronized to music and worth seeing more than one show
- The Hoover Dam or Grand Canyon in full-day or half-day excursions; breathtaking views and a scenic drive
Top Must-Dos
- Make your own cocktail and have it served by Tipsy Robot in Planet Hollywood; use an iPad to customize your drink, and a robot makes it right before your eyes (don’t forget to give it a name!)
- Visit the Mob Museum, to learn how Vegas was built and the influence this group played on its development
- Check out Area15, Vegas’ immersive entertainment district, housing Illuminarium, Meow Wolf, Liftoff, and the Lost Spirits Distillery
Selling Points
- World-class entertainment and shows
- Luxurious casino resorts and hotels
- Gourmet dining experiences from celebrity chefs
- Vibrant nightlife and pool parties
Culinary Suggestions
- The Palm Restaurant
- Gordon Ramsay Hell’s Kitchen
- Carbone
