Can you share a moment in your career when you realized, “This is exactly what I’m meant to do”?
There was a moment during a travel event at my branch that really made me feel, ‘This is exactly what I’m meant to do.’ I had several members asking about the cost of an island-hopping trip to Hawaii. As someone who’s visited all the islands, I was able to plug in different dates, compare resorts, and tailor options to match their interests and budgets—all in real time. I wasn’t just quoting prices; I was sharing firsthand insights, helping them visualize their dream vacation, and guiding them through choices with confidence. Seeing their excitement and trust in my recommendations made me realize how much I enjoy turning travel dreams into real experiences. It reminded me why I love this work—I’m not just booking trips; I’m creating unforgettable journeys.
What’s your favorite part about helping others experience the world through travel?
I love seeing people light up when their trip starts coming together. Helping them go from ‘I wish’ to ‘I’m going’ is the best part. I get to take the stress out of planning and use my knowledge to make their dream trip feel easy and real. It’s so rewarding to be part of that journey.
What’s one cultural experience that left a lasting impression on you?
My first solo trip to Rome left a huge impression on me. Walking through the ancient streets, seeing the Colosseum and Vatican in person—it was like history came alive. But what really stayed with me was the culture: how locals took their time to enjoy food, conversation, and life. It taught me to slow down and really be present in the moment. That trip changed how I see the world and sparked my love for meaningful travel.
What advice would you give to someone just starting their travel industry journey?
Stay curious and always keep learning—about destinations, travel trends, and what matters most to your clients. Build real connections, listen more than you talk, and don’t be afraid to ask questions. Passion and good service go a long way in this industry.
If you could only pack 3 items for a trip around the world, what would they be?
1. A journal—to capture memories, moments, and lessons along the way. 2. A lightweight, all-purpose travel scarf—great for warmth, style, or even as a pillow on the go. 3. My phone—with a great camera and travel apps, it’s my map, translator, and connection to the world.
What’s one place on your travel bucket list that you haven’t crossed off yet?
One place that’s still on my travel bucket list is actually two—Budapest and Prague. I’ve always been drawn to the mix of rich history, stunning architecture, and unique culture in both cities. They just seem like the kind of places that leave a lasting impression, and I can’t wait to experience them for myself someday.
