Can you share a moment in your career when you realized, “This is exactly what I’m meant to do”?
A girl called me before her trip to India and we ended up having a full debrief and I made her a custom guide to help her avoid some of the mistakes I had made traveling there. She called me afterwards to say that she had felt so safe and had an amazing time and I realized I had just helped a girl fulfill her dreams of traveling the world and it gave me this overwhelming sense of pride and desire to continue empowering females to explore.
What’s your favorite part about helping others experience the world through travel?
My favorite part about helping others experience the world through travel is when they tell me their stories from their trip. Many of my clients I’ve never met yet I feel as though I have the privilege to be in on their funny family moments and of course hearing it was the best time ever feels amazing as well.
What’s one cultural experience that left a lasting impression on you?
This past summer I was crossing a border in Africa, it was my first land border crossing and they went through all my bags and interrogated me over my tampons. It opened my eyes to the lack of access to feminine products in parts of the world and made me want to not only help girls travel but help the women I meet traveling too. Im launching a section of my business to help further this mission within this coming year.
What advice would you give to someone just starting their travel industry journey?
When you think you know it all, think again. Everyday you can learn something new and that’s what makes this industry so fun. It’s not just getting from point a to point b it’s putting together pieces of a puzzle that are going to turn into lifelong memories for someone else.
If you could only pack 3 items for a trip around the world, what would they be?
Assuming I already have my passport I would pack my kindle E reader, Egyptian magic face cream, and a Bikini.
What’s one place on your travel bucket list that you haven’t crossed off yet?
I’m dying to get to experience the Northern lights in this lifetime!
